How They Work
Fixed Glass Keeps the Design Focused on Light, Views and Form
A picture window does not open. Its fixed construction removes the sash movement and operating hardware found in ventilating windows, allowing the glass area and surrounding architecture to become the main visual focus.
Specialty windows use the same fixed-window principle in custom shapes or larger compositions. When ventilation is also needed, they can be combined with operable sidelites, casements, awnings, sliders or single hung windows.
